A Singapore-based early-stage venture capital firm, Extream Ventures, today announced a new 20 million dollar fund.
The money from the fund will be used to focus on supporting the next generation of emerging technologies in Singapore.
Extream says Singapore is Asia’s new hotbed of innovation, as the country has considerable investments in research and development.
The firm has also secured commitments from Germany’s Georgieff Capital and ART Texas Capital from the US.
Extream Ventures is funded by institutional investors, high net worth individuals and Singapore’s National Research Foundation or NRF.
It is one of only six funds managers selected under the NRF’s Early Stage Venture Funding Scheme.
The Fund will assume the role of lead investor, typically investing up to 3 million dollars per company as part of a startup round of funding.
Extream expects to invest in eight to ten innovative early-stage companies. |
