The Education Ministry plans to enhance the teaching of religious awareness in Civics and Moral Education.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education, Masagos Zulkifli, said this in parliament today, in response to queries from MP Inderjit Singh.
But he did not elaborate.
Currently, students learn about the six major religions in Singapore, including their origins and festivals, within the CME curriculum.
The importance of social cohesion, tolerance and sensitivity are also emphasised. |
