In English football news,
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez says, he's had to re-evaluate his club's aspirations for the current season.
Having been eliminated from the Group Stage in the Champions League, the Reds are also lying in 8th position after 7 losses in the EPL.
This time last year, the Anfield club went into the Christmas break, standing at the top of the EPL and contesting in 2 other competitions.
Well over the next 5 days, Liverpool will host Wolverhampton Wanderers and then travel to Aston Villa.
And Benitez wants his players to start focussing their attention on a game-by-game basis.
Meanwhile,
Hull City and Arsenal have been charged by the Football Association for failing to control their players.
The charge relates to what the FA describes as a "mass confrontation", during Arsenal's 3-nil win at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Players from both teams became involved in a mass scuffle after Gunners midfielder Samir Nasri, appeared to tread on the foot of Hull City's Richard Garcia, in the 2nd half.
Both clubs have 2 weeks to respond to the charge. |
